Dimora Castiglioni-A noble house in the center of the Venice lagoon

It is not just a holiday home but more simply our home. We would like that, for the time you will spend our guest, it is also your home. Ours is a philosophy, an experience, it can never be simply the essential. This beautiful noble residence was built in 1929 by my maternal grandfather, Count Piero Castiglioni, who built this residence to spend the summers with his large family. Much has changed at the Lido of Venice since then, but the somewhat melancholy and mysterious charm of the island in the Venetian lagoon remains unchanged. We decided to renovate the external facade and, in our ground floor apartment, important renovations were carried out. However, we decided to try as much as possible to respect what were the color and structure indications of the time. So the color of both the facade and the shutters are the same that were originally used, colors very much in use at the Lido. We have kept the original parquet, present in the bedrooms and in the living room, made of oak with a classic design, which allows us to admire the various shades of color of the noble wood. The floor is the same, both in form and in material, which can be, or rather, which could be admired inside the famous Hotel Des Baines. The kitchen flooring also dates back to the time and is a beautiful example of uniform "grain". The time that has passed has “marked” the floor, but the beauty of the work makes it even more fascinating. The Dimora is located in a strategic area of the island. In fact, despite being in the central area, it is very quiet and very discreet. The beaches are located about 400 meters away as well as the lagoon with all the water bus docks is less than 500 meters away. Secluded position but in a few minutes you can reach Viale Regina Margherita, a transit center, with numerous restaurants, ice cream parlors and various shops. Among the many ice cream parlors, without hurting anyone, we like to remember the historic and perhaps first ice cream parlor on the beach, the very famous “Gelateria da Tita”. This, like many others, are fascinating stories that will be discovered by fully experiencing a stay on the wonderful island.
