Shops, supermarkets, bakeries, drinks shops, butchers and restaurants are all nearby. <br><br>Bad Harzburg is located on the northern edge of the Harz and is a recognized brine spa.<br><br>The city lies in the area of the northern foothills of the Harz at an altitude between 180 m and 555 m above sea level on the border of Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. It stretches south into the Radau valley and borders the Harz National Park. The Radau flows through the city in a south-north direction. To the north it is connected to the city of Braunschweig by the A 395 and thus to the A 2. In the east-west direction it connects Wernigerode and Quedlinburg via the federal roads 6 and 82 with the A 7. The highest point in the Harz Mountains, the Brocken, is about 13 km south.
