$Our house is a well-equipped home decorated in south western style. It has been rented by visitors from many parts of the world since 2005, some of whom have returned many times. It is situated at the mouth of Cave Creek Canyon in the beautiful Chiricahua Mountains which are noted for their abundance of wildlife and walking trails. The pristine night skies is evidenced by the number of private observatories. For more details visit ar (Website hidden by Airbnb) The house has three bedrooms, one of which is equipped and used as a study. The others are a master bedroom with a queen size bed and an en suite bathroom with shower and large corner bath. The second bedroom has two single beds and is adjacent to the family bathroom with a bath and shower over it. The two bedrooms are at opposite ends of the house making it highly suitable for two couples. The lounge and dining room are combined to form a 'Great Room'. This leads to the well-equipped kitchen and breakfast area. The whole house is air-conditioned by a heat pump which doubles as a heater in cold weather. Guests are welcome to use any part of the house including washing machine and drier. There is a range of telescopes and mounts which are availble to guests. A 12-inch Dobsonian Intelliscope from Orion Is the largest and can be used on the deck or set up on the concrete pad which is surrounded by a wind shield. The Nexstar 6 is a computerised Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope which is light weight and easy to set up and use. There is also a high-quality 80mm refractor and two equatorial mounts. A range of eyepieces are available but you are advised to bring your own if you have your favourites. The house is completely self-contained and offers a good deal of privacy. It is looked after by a local couple (Rob and Debbie) who do an excellent job. You are unlikely to see them unless you call them with a problem. I can email a copy if you let me know. Let us introduce you to one of the world's best destinations for lovers of nature and the great outdoors. The Arizona Sky Village was set up to provide astronomers with access to clear, dark skies where they can enjoy and share their hobby with like-minded people. Its location was chosen carefully by Jack Newton, the leading astrophotographer, with astronomy in mind but it also happens to be one of the premiere bird-watching locations in North America and is at the mouth of Cave Creek Canyon in the beautiful Chiricahua Mountains. The village itself is a low-impact development designed to preserve the unspoilt beauty of the area. Single-storey homes on large plots are dotted about in the desert at the foot of the mountains giving access to lovely scenery and a wealth of wildlife. Strict planning rules ensure the night sky remains dark to reveal its natural beauty. Once the stamping grounds of Apache chiefs such as Cochise and Geronimo the area is rich in game. Abundant pottery shards show the sites of former indian camps. Monuments mark the locations of significant events in the history of the area which involved many conflicts between white settlers, Native Americans and Mexicans. Desert birds, mountain birds and migratory species travelling between Mexico and the north make up a rich diet for the bird watcher, whether novice or dedicated twitcher. Javelinas, Coati, Jack Rabbits, Cottontails and many other animals are seen regularly. More rarely mountain lions and black bears may be glimpsed. A car is essential as there is no public transport.$
